Anutin Charnvirakul Leads Final Cabinet Meeting of 2025

Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul chaired the final Cabinet meeting of 2025. A key economic agenda item expected to be discussed today is the consideration of the monetary policy target framework for 2026, jointly proposed by the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Thailand (BOT). This framework sets an inflation target of 1-3% to maintain price stability and support long-term economic growth in Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, the agenda item for information included the Ministry of Commerce's proposal for measures to mitigate the impact of the unrest in the Thai-Cambodian border area, in order to help businesses and people in the area continue their operations.

The International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) will present its 2024 annual performance report. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives reported on the results of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16) meeting to promote sustainable soil resource management.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) proposes a draft Royal Decree on Degrees and Academic Gowns of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Institute to support the graduation ceremony in May 2026. Similarly, it is proposing a draft Royal Decree for Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya in preparation for graduation ceremonies in August 2027.
