Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has confirmed that Ekniti, Supajee, and Sihasak are integral members of the Bhumjaithai Party. Anutin, who also serves as the party leader, emphasized their unified efforts to serve the nation and its people. In a related development, Veera Charnvirakul issued an apology for disseminating incorrect information regarding their party affiliation.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin shared a clip from a popular TV program featuring Suthichai Yoon and Professor Veera Teerapat on his personal Facebook page. The program, which aired on January 16th, analyzed prominent figures within the Bhumjaithai Party. Anutin criticized the portrayal of these individuals, stating that both Ekniti and Supajee are key members of the party's economic team, which focuses on finance, treasury, and trade. Additionally, he noted that Sihasak is the party's prime ministerial candidate, and all three are slated for cabinet positions if the Bhumjaithai Party forms a government.
Anutin urged the media personalities to verify information more thoroughly before making public analyses. He highlighted that Ekniti, Supajee, and Sihasak have actively campaigned, appeared on television, and clarified party policies on numerous occasions. Their affiliations are prominently displayed under the party's banner, reinforcing their commitment and unity in serving the country.
Following Anutin's clarification, Veera Charnvirakul commented on the post, acknowledging his mistake. He expressed his unawareness of Ekniti's and Supajee's membership in the Bhumjaithai Party and apologized for any misunderstandings. Veera attributed his error to information from the Election Commission regarding campaign assistants, which led him to assume that membership was not a requirement. He extended his apologies to Anutin, as well as to Ekniti and Supajee, reaffirming their roles within the party.
