Anutin Confirms Sufficient Fuel Supply in Sukhothai for Songkran Travel

Sukhothai: Anutin Charnvirakul inspected gas stations in Sukhothai, checking fuel stocks and expressing confidence that there will be sufficient fuel to accommodate Songkran travel.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul traveled to Sukhothai province to monitor the fuel supply situation during the Songkran festival, a period of high public travel. The Prime Minister closely inspected gas stations in the area, checking fuel stock levels, distribution, and service readiness. He also spoke with gas station operators and customers to hear firsthand accounts of the situation.

Mr. Anutin revealed that, based on an overall assessment of fuel services in Sukhothai province, the situation was satisfactory. Gas stations were able to adequately meet the public's fuel demand, with no signs of shortages and no unusually long queues.

"I want to assure the public that during this year's Songkran festival, Thailand has sufficient fuel to support travel both to and from the destinations. Everyone can travel back to their hometowns with peace of mind, without worrying about running out of fuel along the way," said Mr. Anutin.

The government has been closely monitoring the energy situation, especially during periods of volatility caused by international factors. The government has secured oil reserves, managed fuel stocks, and regulated pricing structures to prevent excessive impacts on the cost of living for the public. Relevant agencies have also been instructed to monitor behaviors that may affect product distribution, such as hoarding or delays in transportation, and to expedite logistics to ensure equitable distribution of oil throughout the country.

Mr. Anutin emphasized that even though Thailand currently has sufficient oil reserves, using energy wisely and economically remains crucial. He requested the cooperation of the public in using energy efficiently to reduce expenses and ensure long-term energy security for the country.

In addition to speaking with business owners, employees, and customers at the gas station, the Prime Minister also personally refueled his own vehicle.
