Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, clarified that there have been no discussions about inviting the influential Lohsathapornpipit family of Trang to join his party. He highlighted the importance of fostering positive relationships and mutual respect among political figures.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed rumors following the recent congratulatory visit by Newin Chidchob, president of Buriram United Club, and Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, a core leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. They visited Sunatcha Lohsathapornpipit, a Democrat Party MP for Trang and the newly appointed chairman of the House of Representatives Police Commission. This visit sparked speculation about potential recruitment efforts by Bhumjaithai.
Anutin emphasized the visit was purely a gesture of goodwill, underscoring the value of friendship and cordial relations in politics. He dismissed claims of any strategic maneuvering to attract Democrat MPs, such as Lohsathapornpipit, to Bhumjaithai in the upcoming elections. Anutin further noted that he has not yet discussed the matter with Phiphat, the party’s southern commander, indicating no immediate plans for political shifts.
