Anutin Denies Rumors of Rift Resolution During Prime Minister’s Buriram Visit

Buriram: In a recent statement, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul denied claims that the Prime Minister’s visit to Buriram was intended to mend a rift between political parties. Instead, Anutin emphasized that the visit aimed to foster a new dimension of engagement by bringing together governors and provincial administrative organizations from across the nation to address local issues.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, who also leads the Bhumjaithai Party, was questioned about whether Prime Minister Paethongtarn’s visit would enhance the image of the Pheu Thai Party and the Bhumjaithai Party. He clarified that the Prime Minister’s primary purpose was to meet with representatives from all 76 provinces. He pointed out that such gatherings are rare, highlighting the Prime Minister’s commitment to presenting policies and building rapport with local leaders.

Anutin further noted that the Prime Minister’s visit provided comfort to many provincial administrative organization presidents. He explained the unprecedented move of asking governors and provincial leaders to coordinate directly with the Prime Minister whenever he visits a province. This initiative is poised to facilitate direct communication, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness across multiple dimensions.

Addressing speculation about a reconciliation with Buriram United Football Club Chairman Newin Chidchob and Chang International Circuit Chairman, Anutin urged the public to focus on the positive outcomes of the visit. He emphasized the need to channel energy toward initiatives that benefit the populace, amidst a backdrop of prevailing challenges.

Following the policy presentation, Anutin was seen engaging warmly with Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, posing for photos against a backdrop featuring both leaders. In a light-hearted moment, Anutin gestured with a thumbs-up and a ‘yes’ sign, expressing his admiration for the Prime Minister, whom he described affectionately.
