Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has expressed his readiness to receive information from Rangsiman Rome regarding scammers, highlighting a commitment to tackling fraudulent activities. Anutin made these remarks during the opening of a football match celebrating the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the United Kingdom at Polo Football Park in Pathumwan District, Bangkok.
According to Thai News Agency, the football competition featured 12 teams divided into three groups, with notable participation from Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, who recently returned to the Democrat Party. Anutin congratulated Abhisit on his return and expressed optimism about future collaboration, noting their historical political connection.
In addressing the Thai-Cambodian border issue, Anutin emphasized the significant progress achieved. He mentioned that there have been no threats or provocations for nearly two months, underscoring the ongoing diplomatic efforts. Anutin assured that any violations of sovereignty would not be tolerated.
On the matter of scammers, Anutin addressed rumors about seven Thai politicians allegedly involved in a scammer gang, dismissing them as false. He emphasized the government’s unwavering stance against scammers, citing recent seizures amounting to tens of billions of baht. Anutin reiterated the importance of evidence-based actions and indicated readiness to expand investigations based on credible information from Rangsiman Rome.
Furthermore, Anutin mentioned an upcoming discussion scheduled for tomorrow at 4:00 PM to delineate responsibilities among ministries in combating scams. When questioned about the political implications of Abhisit’s return, Anutin emphasized the importance of healthy competition and the development of beneficial policies for the public, reinforcing a democratic choice for voters.
