Anutin Instructs Ministry of Energy to Lower Oil Prices Amid Global Market Decline

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister, has directed the Ministry of Energy to urgently explore strategies for reducing retail fuel prices to ease the financial burden on the public, following a decline in global oil prices and the resolution of the Middle East crisis.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, shared that Prime Minister Anutin, who also serves as the Minister of Interior, highlighted the recent decrease in global crude oil prices over the past couple of weeks due to reduced tensions in the Middle East. He has tasked the Ministry of Energy and the Fuel Fund Office with monitoring the situation closely and considering adjustments to domestic retail fuel prices to align with current costs. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of taking swift action to lower fuel prices if conditions remain favorable, aiming to provide fair benefits to the public and businesses. This move is intended to alleviate living costs, reduce transportation and production expenses, and ultimately boost the Thai economy.
