Anutin Resigns Amidst Coalition Rift Rumors, Focuses on National Ceremony

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced his resignation from the cabinet amidst speculations of tensions within the coalition parties. The resignation follows circulating rumors about a cabinet reshuffle aimed at securing the ‘Minister of Interior’ position, which Anutin has refuted.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin arrived at the Ministry of Interior early in the morning and addressed reporters’ inquiries about the alleged cabinet reshuffle. He confirmed that no such reshuffle was taking place. Anutin emphasized his departure from the cabinet was due to his commitment to presiding over a significant royal ceremony, wherein governors across the nation were to receive Bodhi trees for planting.

The rumors of Anutin’s resignation have been linked to his relationship with the coalition government. When questioned about this connection, Anutin expressed distress, reiterating the importance of the ceremony. He highlighted that the Bodhi trees need to be planted in every province, underscoring the national significance of this initiative.
