Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Thailand, convened a crucial meeting at Government House before the scheduled Cabinet assembly. He summoned Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew, along with Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilapraphan, to deliberate on significant national matters.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting is anticipated to address the list of Thai ships navigating the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. This follows a request from the Omani Ministry of Defence for Thailand to resubmit the list, a move prompted by the recent safe passage of the SCG vessel through the strait. Sihasak Phuangketkaew met with Prime Minister Anutin at 9:05 AM at the Khu Fah Building to discuss this pressing issue.
Shortly thereafter, at 9:15 AM, Pakorn Nilapraphan joined the Prime Minister to discuss an impending emergency decree involving the borrowing of 500 billion baht. This fiscal strategy is critical as the government seeks to address economic challenges.
In a brief moment before the Cabinet meeting, at 9:45 AM, Anutin engaged in a photo session with the recipients of the Prime Minister Awards: Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Awards 2025, among other accolades. This event took place in the central hall of Building 1 at Government House.
The Cabinet meeting commenced before 10:00 AM in Room 501, Building 1, with Prime Minister Anutin presiding. Notably, he did not provide any interviews to the media, and there were no absences reported among the ministers at today's meeting.
