Anutin Switches to Personal Car Due to Noise Issues from Official Vehicle

Bangkok: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul explained his decision to switch to a personal vehicle, citing noise issues from the official car used during General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s tenure. The loud oxygen supply from the vehicle reportedly drained the battery, prompting the switch.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin revealed that before leaving Parliament, he opted to replace the black Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard Sedan Long with his Rolls-Royce, bearing the license plate number Wor 3333 Bangkok. The official car, previously used by General Prayut Chan-o-cha, was plagued by an unusually loud oxygen emission that affected its battery life. Anutin stated that the issue was puzzling, leading him to rely on his personal vehicle instead. He also mentioned that the official car had not been used for an extended period, and he was accustomed to using his own car.

When questioned about whether the vehicle would be put back into service after repairs, Anutin noted that the car was an armored and heavy vehicle. He added that the decision to use it was made by Government House, and when asked about his preference for official vehicles, he humorously remarked, “Oh, I like riding in a tuk-tuk.”
