Anutin Vows Support for Soldiers at Buriram Border Fence Construction

Buriram: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, expressed his support and sympathy for frontline soldiers during a visit to the border fence construction at a military base in Buriram Province. Anutin emphasized the government’s readiness to assist soldiers and reassured them of safety as they guard the border.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin led a delegation to the Chong Sai Taku border crossing in Ban Kruat District, which is currently closed and connects to Cambodia. During the visit, Anutin and his team received a briefing on the situation, distributed food supplies to soldiers, and inspected the concertina wire fence along the Thai-Cambodian border. Anutin highlighted the importance of alternating fences and walls based on terrain and assured compensation funds would be delivered by October 6th.

Anutin and his delegation also visited the Scorpion Operations Base, where they provided food supplies to boost morale among the Suranaree Force’s border defense troops. Anutin addressed the media, refuting claims that the fence had not yet been built, and showcased the multi-layered barbed wire fence designed to prevent enemy incursions.

During the visit, Anutin expressed concern for the soldiers stationed at the border during the rainy season and stressed the necessity of government support if requested. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the soldiers’ needs, given the ongoing security challenges, including occasional rocket and bomb threats from the other side.

Local residents gathered to meet Anutin, who assured them the border crossing would remain closed and urged patience for financial aid distribution on October 6th. Anutin also took time to engage with residents, taking a friendly photo with them.

Before departing, Anutin encouraged the soldiers, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their safety and support. He ended his visit by singing a motivational song for the soldiers, “We will fight until our hearts die for the nation of Thailand.”
