Arrest of a young man who broke into coin-operated laundry machines

Bangkok, Metropolitan Police Bureau investigators, together with TOP G investigators, arrested a young man who had been breaking into coin-operated laundry machines at several convenience stores. The sly man adjusted the angle of the CCTV cameras. The Metropolitan Police along with Task Force 4, together with students of the TOPG training course, Task Force 4, arrested Mr. Chaianan, age 29, a suspect with an arrest warrant from the Phra Khanong Criminal Court, No. 500/2567, dated July 30, 2567, on the charge of 'theft at night by masking the face or doing anything else to prevent seeing or recognizing the face, using a vehicle to facilitate the commission of the offense or taking the property away and to avoid arrest.' On July 14, 2024, Khlong Tan Police Station was notified by a victim who came to meet the investigation officer at Khlong Tan Police Station that on July 12, 2024 at approximately 03.54, an unknown perpetrator rode a motorcycle in and adjusted the direction of the CCTV camera angle to steal money from a coin exchange machine at a convenient laundry shop on Soi Phatthanakan 38, Suan Luang Subdistrict, Suan Luang District, Bangkok. He stole 5,000 baht and rode a motorcycle to escape. He then went to meet the investigation officer at Khlong Tan Police Station to file a complaint. Later, the investigation officers investigated until they found out the perpetrator, Mr. Chai-anan, and found out that this person was the same person who stole from convenience stores in Huai Khwang and Ratchada-Pracha Rat Bamphen areas between July 11-16, 2024. The investigation officers coordinated with the investigators to request an arrest warrant for Mr. Chai-anan until they found out that the perpetrator had fled to live in Soi Phai Singto, so they arrested him and sent him to the investigation officer at Khlong Tan Police Station to proceed with legal action.
