London: Arsenal have finalized the permanent acquisition of Ecuadorian international centre-back Piero Ignapie from Bayer Leverkusen. The reigning Premier League champions have signed Ignapie on a contract lasting until the summer of 2031.
According to Thai News Agency, Ignapie initially joined Arsenal on a loan deal last season. His performance was so impressive that the Gunners opted to make the move permanent for a fee of £34.5 million, approximately 1,518 million baht, plus bonuses.
The 24-year-old played a pivotal role in Arsenal's success during the Premier League title win and their progression to the UEFA Champions League final in the 2025/26 season, contributing significantly in his 39 appearances across all competitions.
