Bangkok: Police spokesperson indicates strong evidence, prompting the Attorney General to indict MP Chonnapat in money laundering and online gambling cases.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwphan, Deputy Inspector General of the Royal Thai Police and spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, addressed the case in which the Attorney General ordered the indictment of Mr. Chanonphat Naksua. Naksua, a Member of Parliament from Songkhla Province representing the Kla Tham Party, along with others, faces charges filed by the Songkhla City Police Station and the Hat Yai Police Station. These charges include money laundering and organizing online gambling. The Attorney General, following dissenting opinions from the Police Region 9, ordered further investigation and ultimately decided to indict both the money laundering case from the Songkhla City Police Station and the case of jointly organizing online gambling from the Hat Yai Police Station.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong emphasized that the facts and evidence, consistently confirmed by the arresting officers, have been verified through the proper process. The case underwent scrutiny at every level, from the investigating officers to the prosecutors, including the dissenting opinions from Police Region 9, before reaching the Attorney General, who reviewed and issued a ruling. This demonstrates that the justice system has functioned according to the evidence.
