Sukhothai: "Aunt Waew" has been charged with complicity in the theft in the case of "Aunt Sayyan's" first prize lottery win. In the ongoing investigation of the chaotic Sukhothai lottery case, "Aunt Waew" has not escaped punishment, facing charges of complicity in theft. Initially, she denied the charges. However, her lawyer is confident that if "Aunt Sayyan" can prove ownership of the lottery ticket, she can still claim the prize even if it was burned.
According to Thai News Agency, at Sawankhalok Police Station in Sukhothai Province, investigators summoned "Aunt Waew," the wife of Uncle Dech, for further questioning in the chaotic lottery case involving "Aunt Sayyan." Uncle Dech, Aunt Waew's husband, confessed to hiding Aunt Sayyan's lottery ticket, number 173770, in a hut in the rice field before burning it out of fear of repercussions. He claimed he acted alone and Aunt Waew was not involved. However, police are not convinced.
Police Colonel Nikom Phromphiram, Superintendent of Sawankhalok Police Station, revealed that the evidence currently points to Aunt Waew as the person who took the lottery tickets and kept them. Initially, investigators have charged Aunt Waew with "jointly committing theft," although she denies the charges. As for Uncle Dech, investigators brought him out of the holding cell and questioned him jointly with Aunt Waew.
