Bangkok:The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) conducted a multi-agency operation targeting three locations in Bangkok linked to an Israeli business network. This operation is part of a probe into suspected illegal nominee businesses and real estate holdings.
According to Thai News Agency, the searches were carried out at the Chabad of Thailand Foundation on Phra Athit Road, an office on Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road, and the construction site of the Chabad House building in Sukhumvit Soi 22.
The investigation aims to collect financial records and corporate documents to crack down on foreign networks allegedly using Thai nationals as nominees to bypass business and property ownership laws. These activities are reportedly occurring in major tourist areas, including Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Koh Samui.
Justice Minister Rutthaphol Naowarat is expected to lead a press conference with relevant agencies at the Ministry of Justice to present the initial findings of this investigation.
