Authorities Seize Over 1 Million Baht Worth of Illegal Animal Drugs in Samut Prakan

Samut prakan: Authorities raided an illegal animal pharmaceutical factory, seizing items worth 1 million baht. The Central Investigation Bureau, in collaboration with the Department of Livestock Development and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), executed a raid on a factory importing illegal animal drugs in Samut Prakan province, confiscating numerous items valued at over 1 million baht.

According to Thai News Agency, police from the Central Investigation Bureau, alongside the Department of Livestock Development, the FDA, and the Samut Prakan Livestock Office, conducted a raid on an illegal animal drug factory. The operation targeted a facility located in Moo 7, Bang Muang Subdistrict, Muang District, Samut Prakan Province. The authorities seized a variety of products, including animal drugs and machinery, with a total value surpassing 1,000,000 baht.

The offenders were found to be smuggling illegal animal medications for sale through their Facebook page. They adopted a cost-cutting and profit-increasing method by mixing these smuggled medications on their own. Liquid medications were diluted with water, and tablets were combined with starch and re-pressed to substantially increase their volume. Initially, the offenders face three charges under the 1967 Drug Act, which could result in a maximum of five years imprisonment and a fine of up to 100,000 baht.
