Bangkok: The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan met with executives of MCOT Public Company Limited during an official visit to Thailand. Mr. Elnur Mammadov, alongside Mr. Elchin Ragub Oglu Bashirov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Thailand, and embassy staff, paid a courtesy call on Associate Professor Issara Seriwattanawut, Chairman of MCOT Public Company Limited, to discuss potential collaborations and enhance bilateral relations.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting marked part of the Azerbaijani delegation’s visit to inaugurate the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Thailand. Associate Professor Issara Seriwattanawut provided insights into the evolution of MCOT, highlighting its transition into the digital media era while maintaining its commitment to delivering neutral and accurate information both domestically and internationally.
Mr. Mammadov acknowledged the complexities of the media industry, drawing from his own experience in telecommunications. He praised MCOT’s efforts and expressed his support for their endeavors. The Deputy Minister emphasized the visit’s primary goal of strengthening ties with Thailand across political, trade, economic, investment, and tourism fronts. He also encouraged the establishment of a Thai embassy in Baku, aiming to foster deeper people-to-people exchanges and information dissemination between the two nations.
