Chonburi: B.Grimm Power and Repco Next, a division of SCG Chemicals Group (SCGC), have signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate artificial intelligence into the management of power plants. This initiative aims to boost the efficiency of combined cycle and renewable energy power plants and involves a collaborative project on a 19.5-megawatt floating solar farm in Amata City Industrial Estate.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Harald Link, CEO of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited, emphasized the significance of this collaboration with Repco Next. The partnership aims to enhance the potential of clean energy development through two primary projects. The first focuses on improving power plant operations using digital solutions, specifically targeting combined cycle and renewable energy plants. Repco Next’s expertise will assist B.Grimm Power in increasing its clean energy production capacity. The second project involves the 19.5-megawatt floating solar farm, which is expected to drive clean energy initiatives in Thailand.
Dr. Suracha Udomsak, SCGC’s Chief Operating Officer and Innovation Officer, discussed the application of the ‘DRS by REPCO NEX’ (Digital Reliability Service Solutions by REPCO NEX), an AI technology designed to enhance the efficiency of cogeneration and renewable energy power plants. This technology utilizes big data for analysis and model creation, providing real-time alerts and operational advice. Such models are expected to aid in precise and timely decision-making. SCGC is also committed to empowering B.Grimm Power personnel by imparting knowledge on digital solutions to enhance business competitiveness and support sustainable energy leadership.
Additionally, SCGC has employed floating buoy innovation for solar panel installations to advance the development of the 19.5-megawatt floating solar farm project for B.Grimm Power in Chonburi’s Amata City Industrial Estate.
