Bangkok: The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) organized a grand celebration to mark the Chinese New Year 2026, welcoming members from the Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA) hailing from 24 countries. The event featured traditional ceremonies and performances to usher in good fortune and prosperity.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, Manager of BAAC, along with the bank's executives and staff, orchestrated a festive event that included a dragon eye-opening ceremony and vibrant performances of rainbow dragon and nine-colored lion dances. The event also featured a grand firecracker display and the distribution of auspicious oranges, symbolizing good fortune, wealth, and abundance. The gathering served as an opportunity for BAAC to host APRACA members, a collective of over 95 financial institutions and agencies involved in agricultural finance and rural development.
APRACA members visited Thailand for a meeting hosted by BAAC with the aim of promoting auspiciousness, prosperity, and success in 2026. The event showcased premium agricultural products from BAAC's customers, such as sticky rice in banana leaves, bamboo tea, Thai coconut pancakes, fresh sapodilla ice cream, and Furano brand fruit wine. The showcase aimed at raising awareness and creating market opportunities for Thai agricultural products, adding value, and generating income for Thai farmers on an international scale.
In line with the Lunar New Year celebrations, BAAC introduced two new series of savings lottery tickets. The gold-plated bundle, priced at 500 baht per unit, offers a grand prize of 20 million baht, with total monthly prizes exceeding 86 million baht over 24 draws. The silver bundle, priced at 100 baht per unit, offers a grand prize of 10 million baht and other special prizes, with total monthly prizes exceeding 109 million baht over 24 draws. Both series offer tax-exempt prize money for individuals and interest upon maturity after two years. Deposits for these lottery tickets are now open via the BAAC Mobile application and all BAAC branches, with the first grand prize draw slated for March 16th.
