Bangkok: BAM has achieved record-high performance in 2025, surpassing its target with collections of 17,800 million baht, marking the highest figure in five years. Dr. Rak Vorakitphokathorn, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Commercial Asset Management Public Company Limited (BAM), shared that the company's success stems from its strategic management of non-performing loans (NPLs).
According to Thai News Agency, BAM's approach involves providing borrowers with opportunities to reclaim collateral such as homes or businesses under lenient conditions. This includes debt restructuring and collaborative solutions using a "Recycling Machine" process, with a goal to rapidly establish a "TDR Factory" (Troubleshooting Restructuring Facility) to enhance borrowers' financial health. The integration of AI technology for in-depth borrower data analysis allows for personalized debt restructuring plans, resulting in more accurate and faster debt resolution processes.
Furthermore, BAM's management of Non-Performing Assets (NPA) shows a strategic use of business partnerships to expand its business base and revenue. Collaborating with promising partner companies, BAM enhances the value of properties such as single-family homes, commercial buildings, condominiums, and vacant land. This strategy transforms "unused properties" into "value-generating properties," generating continuous income for BAM and reducing holding periods. The "Public Property Project for Homes of Those Struggling to Make Enduring Lives" has been successful, selling nearly 1 billion baht worth of properties to over 6,722 interested parties, including freelancers, low-income earners, and those with limited access to financial institutions.
Dr. Rak emphasized that BAM's performance is rooted in its organizational development amidst rapid competition and change. This involves developing a novel business model, improving internal processes for maximum efficiency, and developing human resources through the HR Master Plan. This proactive approach aims to drive the organization towards sustainable BAMX Transformation in the future.
