Bangkok Authorities and EIT Inspect Old Buildings Following Fatal Incident

Bangkok: The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT) are conducting inspections of old buildings and pinpointing high-risk areas across the capital. This initiative comes in the wake of a recent incident that highlighted the potential dangers posed by aging structures in the city.

According to Thai News Agency, the collapse of an awning on an old building in the Samphanthawong district resulted in a fatality, which has underscored the urgent need for assessments of building safety. Many of these older buildings have been in use for extended periods, raising concerns about structural deterioration.
