Bangkok Bus Terminal Anticipates Peak Travel Day with 160,000 Passengers

Bangkok: The Bus Terminal Authority (BTA) reports a continuous flow of travelers at the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), with a peak expected of 160,000 people today. They have arranged buses and drivers to provide full assistance and convenience.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthawit Rakchamroon, Managing Director of Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS), revealed the bustling atmosphere of public travel during the New Year festival 2026. On December 30, 2025, the terminal anticipates its busiest day, with approximately 150,000-160,000 people traveling in round trips using over 8,000 bus trips, including those operated by BKS and partner companies. To accommodate the increased travel demand on the last working day of 2025, BKS has prepared about 1,000 non-scheduled buses.

Regarding bus service data from December 29, 2025, a total of 126,429 passengers traveled via the terminal. This included 76,088 outbound passengers and 50,341 returning passengers. These travelers utilized 3,663 outbound bus trips and 3,428 return trips, making a total of 7,091 trips. The government-owned bus company (BKS) successfully managed its operations, ensuring no passengers were left stranded.
