Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has announced that it will not hold any meetings this week, despite confirming readiness for the upcoming elections and re-voting scheduled for February 22.

According to Thai News Agency, the decision comes after already settling on holding elections in select polling units and organizing a referendum. The ECT remains prepared to convene urgently if necessary, as some polling stations have yet to be fully verified.

Voting for constituency and party-list MPs, along with a new referendum, is set for February 22 at specific locations within Bangkok, including polling station and referendum unit 9, Constituency 15, Khan Na Yao Subdistrict. These activities are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Acting Sub-Lieutenant Sampan Saengkhamlert, Director of the Bangkok Election Commission, mentioned that election materials and ballots would be delivered to the district office by Thailand Post. He indicated uncertainty about the ballot format, which will only be visible upon distribution on election day.

The ECT has resolved to recount votes at polling station 10, referendum district 15, Khan Na Yao Subdistrict, using the same staff due to uncounted votes. The vote recount is set for 10:00 AM, and the process will mirror previous procedures from February 8. Sampan emphasized the importance of adherence to regulations and legal procedures by polling officials, expressing confidence in the process.
