Bangkok: Governor Chatchart Sittiphan has directed a strict crackdown on waste management, construction oversight, and corruption within the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). He emphasized the need for stringent supervision of these sectors while also promoting the integration of vocational training center products into the market.

According to Thai News Agency, during a recent meeting with BMA department heads, Governor Chatchart highlighted the importance of maintaining standardized waste separation and collection across districts. Despite significant household participation in the "No Mixing: Separate Waste to Reduce Fees" project, issues with application usability persist. The governor instructed district authorities to enhance public education and streamline the process, reporting any technical difficulties to the central office for swift resolution.

In terms of construction projects, Governor Chatchart expressed concern over inefficiencies and public disturbances caused by certain contractors. He urged district directors to focus on problematic projects and maintain records of substandard contractors. Specific attention was given to the wastewater collection project in Thonburi, with directives to address resident hardships and seek accountability from contractors.

Addressing transparency, especially in building permit processes, Governor Chatchart declared a zero-tolerance policy for bribery, urging agency heads to uphold integrity and public trust. He stressed the use of technology to eliminate corruption and ensure all processes are transparent and verifiable.

The governor also advocated for the promotion of vocational training center products, encouraging their sale in public parks to bolster the local economy and provide students with real-world employment opportunities.

Lastly, in preparation for the Songkran festival, Governor Chatchart called for heightened safety measures, particularly ensuring construction sites are secured during the holiday period.
