Bangkok:The Bangkok Governor has taken immediate action following a fire that broke out in the Bon Kai community, resulting in the setup of an urgent shelter for affected households.

According to Thai News Agency, Governor Chatchart Sittipunt visited the Bon Kai Pattana community in the Lumpini Subdistrict of Pathum Wan District after a fire erupted in the early hours at 0051 AM, affecting a cluster of two-story wooden houses. The fire was swiftly addressed by firefighters from the Bon Kai Fire Station and related agencies, who managed to control and extinguish the blaze by 0237 AM. Fortunately, there were no initial reports of injuries or fatalities.

The Governor conducted a thorough survey of the damage site, engaging with residents, community leaders, police officers, and firefighters to gather detailed information. Over 70 households have been registered as affected, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is actively collecting further data to assess the full extent of the damage and provide necessary assistance.

To accommodate those displaced by the fire, a temporary shelter has been established at the Bon Kai Youth Center, offering improved space and facilities. The administration has equipped the center with beds, mattresses, and checked the readiness of essential amenities such as restrooms and showers to ensure comfortable accommodation for residents.

Governor Sittipunt also personally interacted with the affected families, providing encouragement, especially to children and the elderly. He assessed their immediate needs, including the requirement for clothing and school uniforms, and initiated coordination with relevant agencies to supply the necessary aid.
