COVID-19 infections in Bangkok have risen by 2,741 in the past 24 hours, a new single day high, as Thailand logged 9,539 new cases and 86 more deaths nationally, according to CCSA Spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin.

Accumulated infections in Bangkok, since the outbreak of the third wave on April 1st, 2021, are approaching the 100,000 mark, with 96,545 cases.

The other top nine provinces are Pathum Thani, 1,108 (total 12,394), Samut Prakan, 642 (total 22,374), Samut Sakhon, 563 (total 12,618), Chon Buri, 381 (total 11,630), Nonthaburi, 338 (total 14,174), Songkhla, 252 (total 6,762), Pattani, 215 (total 4,311), Saraburi, 178 (total 2,780) and Chachoengsao, 176 (total 3,658).

Cumulative infections nationally, since April 1st, 2021, are 307,508, while cumulative infections since early last year are 336,371. The total death toll is 2,711 to date.

New clusters found in the past 24 hours include two canneries in Samut Sakhon, with 28 new infections, a metal factory and a fruit cannery in Pan Thong district of Chon Buri, recording 34 new infections, a construction worker dormitory in Sai Noi district of Nonthaburi, where 17 workers were infected, a pig slaughter house in Nakhon Pathom and a market in Ratchaburi.

12,469,188 doses of vaccines have been administered nationally to date.

85,689 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals, including 47,475 in general hospitals and 38,214 in field hospitals. 2,783 are severe cases, including 728 who are on ventilators.
