Bangkok: “May” Ariya Jutanugarn spearheads the Thai women’s golf team as they aim to capture the prestigious CPKC Women’s Open title in Canada this week. She is joined by fellow Thai competitors “Mew” Pajaree Anannarukan, “Praw” Chanettee Wannasen, “Hut” Suvichaya Winichaitham, and “Mo” Moriya Jutanugarn. These athletes will compete against elite international players, including world number one Nelly Korda.

According to Thai News Agency, the LPGA Tour's CPKC Women's Open, boasting a total prize fund of US$2.75 million (approximately 90.9 million baht), will take place at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, from August 20-23, 2026. Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson is set to defend her title, having previously clinched victory in this tournament in 2018 and 2025.

Among the Thai golfers, Ariya Jutanugarn, a former world number one and winner of 12 LPGA titles, will be participating in this tournament for the 12th time. She initially competed as an amateur in 2012 and missed the cut, but triumphed in 2016, one of her five wins that year. This season, her best performance was an 8th place tie at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Pajaree Anannarukan, a two-time LPGA champion, is entering her fifth tournament, with her best result being a tie for 13th place in 2019. This year, she has achieved top 10 finishes in three tournaments, including the US Women's Open and the Women's Scottish Open.

Chanettee Wannasen will compete for the third time, having previously missed the cut in 2024 and finishing tied for 36th last year. This year, she has secured top 10 finishes in three events, including a tie for 2nd at the Portland Classic.

Moriya Jutanugarn, a three-time LPGA champion, will make her 12th appearance on the LPGA Tour. Her best finish this season was a tie for 23rd at the Team Stars Championship alongside her sister Ariya.

Suvichaya Winichaitham, a rookie, will debut at this tournament. She recently achieved her best finish with a tie for 8th place at the Portland Classic.

The competition will also feature top-ranked golfers and major champions such as Nelly Korda, Jennifer Kupcho, Alisen Corpuz, Lilia Wu, Lexi Thompson, and Danielle Kang from the US, as well as prominent players from Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, China, Sweden, and South Africa.
