Bangkok Mobilizes 500 Personnel for Post-Flood Debris Cleanup

Bangkok:The city is mobilizing 500 personnel to clear post-flood debris from October 9-11, focusing on the Lat Krabang and Saphan Sung districts.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pornprom Na Wikitseth, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, chaired a War Room meeting of the Flood Resource Management Center and Bangkok Environmental Department to plan the allocation of personnel and equipment for the flood-affected areas.

Two teams from the Bangkok Environmental Department, totaling over 500 personnel, were deployed with dump trucks, grabbers, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to expedite the debris collection. They worked from October 9-11, 2026, hauling large waste items from alleys inaccessible to larger vehicles, gathering them at a temporary collection point, and loading them onto trucks for transport to Bangkok's waste disposal centers.

Mr. Pornprom also mentioned that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will accelerate resource and personnel mobilization to restore the area, manage remaining waste, and help return the Lat Krabang-Saphan Sung area to normalcy quickly.
