Bangkok Opens Registration for Constituency-Based MP Election

Bangkok: Bangkok is ready to open registration for the election today, emphasizing that the process is clear: document verification, lottery drawing, and fee payment will be completed in full. Acting Sub-Lieutenant Sampan Saengkhamlert, Director of the Bangkok Metropolitan Election Commission Office, spoke about the registration process for Bangkok's constituency-based Members of Parliament (MPs), stating that today is the registration day for Bangkok's constituencies. The district offices are fully prepared in all aspects, including buildings, equipment, and personnel. They have also thoroughly rehearsed the procedures to ensure the registration process is orderly, transparent, and fair.

According to Thai News Agency, for the application process, applicants must arrive no later than 8:30 AM. Once all applicants have arrived, they will be given the opportunity to discuss and agree on the order of application submission. If they cannot agree, a lottery process will be conducted.

Prior to the lottery, the district election director will verify the completeness of the documents and check the 10,000 baht application fee. If the documents or money are incomplete, the applicant will be notified to correct them or reapply at a later date, with a record of the return of the documents kept as evidence.

The lottery process is divided into two stages. In the first stage, the district election director will draw lots to determine the order in which candidates will draw lots in the second round. Then, in the second stage, each candidate will draw lots to determine the order in which they will officially submit their applications.

Once their turn is determined, applicants will submit documents, pay the application fee, and receive the application form, completing the election application process for today.
