Bangkok’s Waste-to-Energy Project to Publicly Showcase Waste Transfer Site

Bangkok: C and G Environmental Protection (Thailand), the operator of the waste incineration project for electricity generation, has concluded its community engagement activities around the Nong Khaem waste disposal center, which boasts a capacity of 1,600 tons per day. Following 22 small group meetings, the company is preparing to open its "waste transfer pit," a key component of the system, to the public in May.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. He Ning, CEO of C and G Environmental Protection (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that the company consistently prioritizes communication and public participation in the areas surrounding the project. From February 19th to March 1st, 2026, the project's management team, experts, and staff conducted 22 small group meetings to gather public opinion. These meetings engaged over 1,192 participants from communities and villages within a 5-kilometer radius of the project site, which includes the districts of Nong Khaem, Bang Khae, and Thawi Watthana, as well as nearby areas in Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom provinces.

The waste incineration project at the Nong Khaem waste disposal center aims to generate electricity while adhering to environmental impact prevention and mitigation measures as outlined in the Code of Practice (CoP).

Mr. He Ning further elaborated that in May 2026, the company plans to open the project's waste management site, one of the largest in Bangkok, to the public. This initiative will allow the public to witness firsthand the waste management process and the technology used to convert waste into electricity.
