Beautiful procession of candle festival on the Damnoen Saduak River, Ratchaburi Province

Ratchaburi, Lak Ha and Sri Don Phai communities, together with the monks of Prasat Sit Temple, Ratchaburi Province, organized a candle procession on boats in the Damnoen Saduak Canal. The Lak Ha and Sri Don Phai communities, together with the monks of Wat Prasat Sit, organized a candle procession on a boat along the Damnoen Saduak Canal to Wat Prasat Sit, Prasat Sit Subdistrict, Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi Province. This was the first time for Wat Prasat Sit, Lak Ha, under the name of 'Organizing a candle procession, candle procession on the Chao Laem Barge, along the Damnoen Saduak Canal', a historical event. The composition of 'Wat Prasat Sit's candle procession' was composed by Rear Admiral Thongyoi Saengsinchai, former Director of the Royal Thai Navy's Chaplain Division, who composed the candle procession poem in the Royal Thai Navy Barge Procession, and Captain Nattawat Aramkluea, Deputy Director of the Small Boat Division, Royal Thai Navy Transportation Department, who acted as the boat proces sion officer for this occasion. Within the procession of the Royal Candle Festival by water, cruising along Damnoen Saduak Canal, there is an invitation of the royal emblem of the 72nd birthday anniversary on July 28, 2024, along with a portrait of His Majesty the King, along with royal offerings, including the Thai national flag, the flag of the emblem of the celebration of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th cycle birthday anniversary or 72 years old on July 28, 2024, followed by the procession of the royal candle festival boats and more than 100 Damnoen Saduak people's boats, which will bring the royal candles to offer to Phra Khru Anukun Worakorn, the abbot of Wat Prasat Sit, Lak Ha, and the monks of Wat Prasat Sit who will stay for 3 months. For the Buddhist Lent Day 2567 this year, it fell on July 21st, an important day in Buddhism where Buddhists will organize many merit-making activities, especially the tradition of offering candles during the Buddhist Lent which has been passed down through the generations. There are many activities such as candle tree contests, light and sound shows, viewing of candle trees, and candle processions.
