Beijing Unveils “GO BEIJING” to Streamline Services for International Tourists

Beijing: Beijing has launched "GO BEIJING," a comprehensive online service platform designed to facilitate tourism for international visitors.

According to Thai News Agency, the platform, which caters to inbound travelers from 40 countries and regions, was developed by the Beijing Municipal Government's Bureau of Public Services and Information Management in collaboration with Alipay and other local government entities.

The "GO BEIJING" platform offers 39 services in 16 languages, accessible via the international version of Alipay. These services include ride-hailing, ticket booking, and hotel reservations. Additionally, the platform provides digital features such as an "AI tour companion" and a "travel wallet" account, enabling users to transfer funds through cross-border remittances and make payments within mainland China.

Further enhancements for foreign visitors are planned, with the introduction of one-stop service areas in the international arrivals districts of Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport by 2025. These areas will offer over 20 essential services, covering finance, communication, transportation, culture, and tourism.

Beijing has seen a significant increase in cross-border travel, with over 7 million trips approved by 2026, marking a 13 percent year-on-year rise. This growth is attributed to the improved effectiveness of China's visa-free policy, which currently allows unilateral visa-free entry to 50 countries and a 240-hour visa-free transit period to 55 countries.
