Bangkok: "Bhumipat" unveils plan to upgrade Don Mueang Airport, creating a landmark to attract tourists to spend money, and developing OTOP (One Tambon One Product) and floating markets, pointing out that this will help generate revenue in the area. Mr. Phumiphat Hosakul, a Pheu Thai Party candidate for Member of Parliament in Bangkok's Don Mueang District, shared his vision during a recent campaign.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumiphat emphasized the feedback he received from residents, who expressed a strong desire for sustainable improvements in their community. He highlighted the potential of Don Mueang Airport, which hosts over one million international tourists yearly, as a key economic driver for the district.
Mr. Phumiphat's plan includes the creation of an OTOP exhibition center at the Don Mueang train station, aiming to provide a venue for local vendors to sell community products, food, and souvenirs. He also proposed a shuttle bus service to transport tourists to local attractions, enhancing their experience and encouraging spending in the area.
Additionally, Mr. Phumiphat envisions a new floating market along the Prem Prachakorn canal near Wat Don Mueang. By improving the canal's water quality and organizing the surrounding area, he hopes to create a vibrant market space for both tourists and local vendors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
In his statement, Mr. Phumiphat expressed confidence that these initiatives would not only attract foreign tourists but also draw Thai visitors, ultimately boosting the local economy and improving the quality of life for Don Mueang residents. He called on support from the Pheu Thai Party to advance these projects for the benefit of the community.
