Bangkok: Bhumjaithai Party leaders campaigned through markets and rode buses in support of the "Ek Saimai" campaign in Bangkok. A market owner presented "Supajee" with a mortar and pestle, symbolizing a request for assistance in solving economic issues. "Sihasak" emphasized the party's commitment to delivering on promises, seeking an extension from four months to four years. Meanwhile, "Suphamas" actively engaged with the public from a campaign float, seeking their votes.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the Bhumjaithai Party's prime ministerial candidate, along with Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, his campaign assistant, and Ms. Suphamas Isarabhakdi, head of the Bangkok MP candidate team, campaigned to support Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert, the MP candidate for Sai Mai District 11.
Upon their arrival, Ms. Yaowapha Chitwiriyakul, also known as "Jae Buay," presented Ms. Supajee with a mortar and pestle. She explained that it symbolizes a tool for overcoming economic challenges and improving governance. The campaign leaders received a warm welcome, with people approaching them for photos. A young woman even expressed her admiration by hugging Ms. Supajee.
The campaign leaders then met residents in Krung Thong Village, Sai Mai District. Mr. Sihasak, transitioning from diplomat to politician, urged the public to trust Mr. Ekkapop as an effective representative. He reassured the public of a robust foreign policy that would enhance Thailand's dignity and promote equitable economic growth. Ms. Supajee Suthamphan emphasized the importance of bridging gaps between administrative teams and community workers. She stated that Mr. Ekkapop would focus on identifying community issues and developing supportive policies if elected. Initiatives like the "Half-Price Plus" scheme are aimed at improving the well-being of the underprivileged and elderly.
The campaign also included a ride on bus number 1009, highlighting public transportation challenges. Mr. Ekkapop noted public demand for BMTA buses to join the service, as currently, only a privately-owned route is available.
