Bangkok: Economic agencies have remained silent following a meeting with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who redirected inquiries to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapha.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bhumjaithai Party's Facebook page has independently released details of the "Thai Helps Thai" project, providing clarity on the initiative designed to boost economic activity.
The Bhumjaithai Party's social media update reveals that the "Thai Helps Thai" program will provide a subsidy of 4,000 baht, distributed in monthly installments of 1,000 baht. Registration for the program is set to open in May 2026, with benefits available for use starting in June 2026. Although economic ministers and agencies, including Danucha Pichayanant of the National Economic and Social Development Council and Lavaron Saengsnit of the Ministry of Finance, have refrained from discussing the meeting's specifics, the Bhumjaithai Party has shared an infographic to elaborate on the project.
The infographic outlines the project's funding structure, where the government will contribute 60% of the subsidy, and the public will cover the remaining 40%. The monthly installments can be utilized via the Paotang app at approved stores across the nation. The subsidy is designed to be non-transferable, must be spent within the month it is distributed, and cannot be converted into cash. This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens and enhance purchasing power among citizens.
