Bangkok: Chaiyanok Chidchob, the Minister of Digital Economy and Society and Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, has indicated uncertainty about the party's intentions to field candidates for the upcoming Bangkok Governor and City Council elections.
According to Thai News Agency, Chaiyanok addressed the ongoing speculation concerning the Bhumjaithai Party's nominations for these key positions. He revealed that the party has not yet engaged in discussions regarding this matter and, as far as his knowledge extends, has no current plans to nominate candidates either for the Bangkok Governor or the Bangkok Metropolitan Council. He further stated that he is unsure whether Anutin Charnvirakul, the party leader, has any individuals in mind for these roles.
Chaiyanok emphasized the need to wait for formal discussions within the party to reach a final decision. He personally believes that it is unlikely the party will field candidates, at least initially. On the subject of potential candidates for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Council, Chaiyanok expressed uncertainty and mentioned that further verification would be required.
