Bangkok: "Big Jok" (General Apirat Kongsompong) appeared in court to sue his former subordinate, Pol. Lt. Col. Krit, for "filing a false police report," while Dr. Thawatchai testified as a witness after being summoned to verify medical information.
According to Thai News Agency, the Criminal Court has scheduled a preliminary hearing in the lawsuit filed by Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakparn, also known as "Big Jok," the former Deputy National Police Chief. He has accused his former subordinate, Pol. Lt. Col. Krit Pariyaket, of filing a false police report intended to subject him to criminal punishment. The legal proceedings originate from an accusation made by Pariyaket, who alleged that Pol. Gen. Surachet physically assaulted him, leading to reputational damage and public misunderstanding.
Big Jok arrived at the Ratchada Criminal Court and made it clear that he would not be providing any interviews on the day of the hearing. He announced that a press conference would be held the following day to address the matter further.
Colonel Dr. Thawatchai Kanjanarin, previously a surgeon at Phramongkutklao Hospital, attended the Criminal Court as a witness. His presence was requested by Big Jok's legal team, who sought the court's intervention to summon him. During his testimony, Colonel Dr. Thawatchai clarified that he was not aligned with either party. He stated that he could not verify the truth of the alleged incident from nine years ago, in which Police Lieutenant Colonel Krit claimed to have been assaulted or slapped in the ear, as he was not present. His role was limited to analyzing medical records to provide an expert opinion. Additionally, he mentioned that he does not have any personal acquaintance with Big Jok.
