“Big Tao” explains postponement of defamation case hearing due to lawyer busy with other cases

Big Tao' postpones the hearing of 'Big Joke's' defamation case, explains that he did not go to court because his lawyer was busy with another case, insists that he did not bring the content of the case to speak in public, it was only to speak about the law and procedures. Pol. Lt. Gen. Charoonkiat Pankaew, deputy commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, revealed after Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakpal gave an interview to the media at the Bangkok South Criminal Court regarding the defamation lawsuit filed by advertising against Pol. Lt. Gen. Charoonkiat, who had sent his lawyer to request a second postponement, that after learning that he was being sued in two cases, after giving the interview, he consulted with his lawyer. At first, the lawyer requested a postponement because he was busy with legal work and other matters. He personally did not want to postpone, but the lawyer asked to prepare various information first. As for what Pol. Gen. Surachet wanted to say, let him say it, but we are professional poli ce officers and have a duty to work. As for the defamation lawsuit, it is a minor matter, not important, it is a nuisance because he is the spokesperson for the investigation team, so he must speak according to the content in providing factual information to the public about how the police work, what evidence there is, and to build morale for the team because they have been threatened and intimidated. He tried to make the work of the officers go smoothly, without damage or deterioration, so he had to come out and speak to make the public understand. The content of the case has not been brought out for clarification because the details will have to be fought in court. As for each time he spoke to the media, he spoke about the law and procedures, and did not reveal any information from the case file. He confirmed that his speaking out today was to protect his personal rights, not during the period when the national police chief returned to office. As for the case where a former commander expressed his opinion that a junior police officer criticizing a senior police officer was an act that the military would not do, Pol. Maj. Gen. Charoonkiat viewed that his speaking out was to provide facts and did not specify who did what. He was speaking about the public, not criticizing or specifically identifying anyone. Pol. Col. Charoonkiat said that the police organization is not a white cloth, as some people say that bad police have their own connections. If we see that this organization has bad police who are always trying to cause damage to their own department, causing trouble everywhere, the public is aware but cannot do anything, the police will come up and take care of it themselves. As for what I said, it was because I criticized to be constructive and beneficial to the public and the police so that they do not get distracted. I did not intend to harm anyone. Pol. Col. Charoonkiat said that in the past, I spoke for the public, did not mention anyone by name, spoke for the organization, with good intentions for the morale and encouragement of officers nationwide. I have worked for the public my whole life. If I talk about the public, I must say that I want police officers nationwide not to be shaken by any incidents that have happened. It is a matter of one individual who has damaged the organization. If we focus or look at it like this, it will make us unable to work or have bad mental health. If people are not good, let the law of the country take its course. As for us, we think that being a police officer is a profession that is not a police profession, so we should continue working. Do not think or be discouraged. We have fought many criminals and offenders. Police who think or do bad things, today the law or sins are working, so let it work. Do not pay too much attention to anything. Focus on working for our brothers and sisters, the people. Various works or achievements will be things that will restore the reputation of the police to be better. Even if it does not improve, we will understand more. We have to live with criticism and gossip, but we must be patient. I would like to encourage everyone in their work. Source: Thai News Agency
