Bangkok: “Big Tao” is gearing up to finalize the legal proceedings concerning “Kritsanong” before the Loi Krathong festival, with initial findings suggesting a case of extortion. However, it remains unclear whether the outcome will involve issuing a summons or an arrest warrant.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Charoonkiat Pankaew, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, discussed the case following a meeting that reviewed the audio clip of Ms. Krisanong, who is noted for managing the Krisanong Anti-Corruption page. The clip reportedly involves Ms. Krisanong demanding funds from Mr. Waratphon Woratworakul, also known as Boss Paul, in varying amounts of 300,000 and 450,000 baht. With 80-90% of the evidence now gathered, clarity on the case is expected this week. While the situation is leaning towards extortion, it is yet to be confirmed if a subpoena or arrest warrant will be pursued.
In a related development, Mr. Phudit Kamnerdploy’s lawyer has initiated legal action against Ms
. Krisanong and Film-Ratthaphum, accusing them of exploiting Mr. Phudit and the Hon Krasae program to extort 20 million baht from Boss Pun and Boss Paul. The matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Crime Suppression Division 1, where a complaint for attempted fraud and defamation has been lodged. Evidence supporting the claim, including an unedited audio clip, has been collected, and Boss Paul’s attorney has been contacted to provide further evidence for the lawsuit.
Boss Paul’s lawyer has affirmed the intention to pursue legal measures. Investigators have already obtained statements from Boss Pun and Boss Paul. In the case of Film Ratthaphum, provided no new charges emerge, an arrest warrant will not be issued, as the matter pertains to the provincial court’s jurisdiction. Instead, a summons will be issued to inform them of the charges.
When inquired about potential similar behaviors by Ms. Krisanong and Film Ratthaphum towards other bosses, Pol. Lt. Col. Charoonkiat expressed a belief that other indivi
duals might have experienced similar situations. However, he emphasized a commitment to addressing each case individually.
