Bloody Songkran! Teenager Shoots at Festival in Mukdahan, 1 Injured

Mukdahan: A group of teenagers got into a brawl and shot a rival, seriously injuring him, in the middle of a Songkran water festival on Phitak Phanomket Road in Mukdahan province. Police are urgently pursuing the suspects to bring them to justice.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident, captured on video, shows a chaotic brawl between groups of teenagers during a Songkran water festival. Bottles were thrown, and they chased and physically assaulted each other, causing panic among tourists enjoying the festivities. The video shows the injured person wielding a baseball bat, chasing and attacking their rival before being shot and falling to the ground, sustaining serious injuries. CCTV footage captured the moment the gunshot rang out. A man in a black shirt was then seen running to discard something at a Northeastern Thai sausage stall before fleeing.

Reporters went to the scene in front of a convenience store on Phitak Phanom Khet Road in Mukdahan Province. They found shattered glass scattered all over the road. Locals reported that people had stopped playing in the water around 11 PM. At that time, there were still people walking around and cars playing loud music. Around 2 AM, two groups of teenagers started fighting. The injured person, Mr. Pharadon, 28, was shot in the abdomen. Good Samaritans and rescue workers took him to Mukdahan Hospital, where doctors removed the bullet and his condition is now stable.

Meanwhile, police at Mukdahan City Police Station are urgently reviewing CCTV footage to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
