Bangkok: The body of Sergeant Major Satthawat Sujarit, who lost his life while protecting Thai territory, was moved to his hometown today. A ceremony was conducted to honor his sacrifice at the Buddhist sanctuary of the 22nd Military District, within Sapphasitprasong Camp in Ubon Ratchathani Province. The sergeant major was a member of the 6th Cavalry Reconnaissance Company and was killed during a mortar attack by Cambodian soldiers at the Anuphong operational base in Chong Bok, Nam Yuen District.

According to Thai News Agency, the attack occurred at around 5:00 AM on December 8th, resulting in injuries to Sergeant Major Satthawat and three other soldiers. Unfortunately, Sergeant Major Satthawat succumbed to his injuries. After the memorial service, his body was transported back to his family in Nong Phok District, Roi Et Province, where traditional funeral rites will be performed.
