Narathiwat: Seven bombs were detonated in two districts of Narathiwat province between midnight and early morning today, believed to be acts of sabotage ahead of the month of Ramadan. Between 11:05 PM and 5:00 AM on the night of February 14th and 15th, 2026, Pol. Lt. Boran Phithinatnanon, Deputy Investigating Officer of Yingor Police Station, Narathiwat Province, received a report of an explosion near a trash can in front of a motorcycle repair shop on the road to Yingor Chalerm Phrakiat 80th Anniversary Hospital, Moo 7, Yingor Subdistrict. He, along with Pol. Col. Narawi Binwaearong, Superintendent of Yingor Police Station, rushed to the scene. They found several motorcycles parked in front of the shop damaged. They cordoned off the area and requested support from relevant authorities to conduct a further investigation in the morning.
According to Thai News Agency, at midnight, another explosion occurred approximately 300 meters from the first location, near a trash can in front of the Livestock Office in Yingor District, located on Thetsaban 3 Road, Moo 7, Yingor Subdistrict. At 2:00 AM, another explosion occurred near a trash can in front of an iPhone repair shop in Moo 7, Yingor Subdistrict. Finally, at 4:00 AM, another explosion took place on the roadside before the iron bridge near the clock tower in Moo 7, Yingor Subdistrict.
A fifth explosion occurred in the bushes along the roadside before the exit to Yingor District, Moo 2, Yingor Subdistrict. Authorities have cordoned off all five locations for safety and coordinated with relevant agencies to investigate in the morning. Fortunately, no one was injured in any of the five explosions.
Authorities reviewed CCTV footage and were able to capture the actions of two suspects who rode a motorcycle and placed the bomb in the bushes by the roadside before reaching the exit to Yingor District, heading towards Phetkasem Road (Highway 42).
In the Ra-ngae district, at 11:32 PM, Pol. Col. Suphachat Na Phatthalung, Superintendent of Ra-ngae Police Station, received a report from Mr. Surat Ratncharoen, owner of Ratncharoen grocery store located at 27-29 Moo 7, Tan Yong Mas Subdistrict, Ra-ngae District. Anothai Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers conducted an initial inspection and found that merchandise displayed on shelves inside the store had been damaged.
Later, at 1:00 AM, an explosion occurred in a trash can opposite the office of the Primary Education Service Area 3, located in Moo 1, Tan Yong Mas Subdistrict, Ra-ngae District. No one was injured.
Authorities believe the explosions were the work of a violent group who coordinated the attack to create unrest before Ramadan, the fasting month for Thai Muslims.
