Boom Panadda Pioneers Disaster Relief and Learning Center in Chiang Rai

Chiang rai: Boom Panadda has transformed a 30-rai (approximately 12-acre) plot of land in Chiang Rai province into a disaster relief center and learning center for the benefit of the local people. Continuing her commitment to social good, Dr. Boom Panadda Wongphudee, president of the Doing Good Foundation, is taking action on this initiative with the aim of benefiting the community.

According to Thai News Agency, Boom Panadda is in Chiang Rai working on the development of a nearly 30-rai plot of land behind her property. The project has received approval through a public referendum, involving local community members and following all legal procedures. The next step is awaiting a municipal meeting to finalize plans. The center aims to serve as a gathering point for the public during disasters, especially for those without mobile phone signals or clear instructions on where to go after evacuations. It will also serve as a hub for donations and their fair distribution, free from political interference.

During non-disaster periods, the center will function as a learning hub for youths and the general public. It will offer training in CPR, water rescue, basic self-care, and caring for others. Additionally, it will host scout camps and other activities for children. Compensation for the project will come from participants of reforestation activities, who will be allowed to use the land. This initiative is seen as a gift to the people of Chiang Rai province and the surrounding areas, reflecting the mission of the Doing Good Foundation.
