Bangkok: In a recent political discourse, Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno provided guidance to Nipit Intarasombat, a former deputy leader of the Democrat Party, concerning his public warning to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Bowornsak emphasized the importance of delivering critiques honestly yet politely, particularly highlighting the issue of the Prime Minister donning a khaki civil servant uniform during a campaign in Trang Province.
According to Thai News Agency, Bowornsak addressed the situation after Nipit raised concerns over the Prime Minister’s choice of attire while campaigning for a Bhumjaithai candidate. Bowornsak noted that while it is crucial to offer warnings rather than compliments, such warnings must remain respectful and avoid abusive language, which would breach the Fourth Precept that discourages lying. He stated that Nipit should personally convey his concerns to the Prime Minister, as the Prime Minister is aware of the implications of his actions.
Bowornsak further expressed that societal interactions should involve warnings delivered with sincerity and kindness, avoiding any form of verbal or physical aggression. He reiterated that polite and truthful communication is more effective and aligns with the cultural and ethical norms expected in public discourse.
