Brewery Fire Claims 32 Lives, All Bodies Identified and Expected to Be Returned Today

Bangkok: The head of the forensic department has confirmed that the devastating brewery fire resulted in a total of 32 deaths. All bodies have been identified, and it is expected that all of them will be returned to their families today.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wirun Suphasinghsiripreecha, Commander of the Forensic Science Institute, Police Hospital, announced the total number of deaths includes 27 fatalities at the scene and 5 additional deaths that occurred while the victims were receiving treatment at the hospital. This marks an increase of two deaths from the previous day.

The patients who succumbed to their injuries after being transferred for treatment were initially moved from Paolo Phaholyothin Hospital and Ladprao Hospital. Another critical case was transferred for further treatment before passing away at Chonburi Hospital.

The Institute of Forensic Medicine has completed the autopsy and identification process, successfully identifying and naming all 32 deceased individuals. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that the majority of the deaths were due to smoke inhalation, although some victims also suffered from significant burn wounds.

In terms of returning the bodies to their families for religious ceremonies, 28 bodies have already been handed over. The remaining four bodies, including those of individuals who died last night and were examined this morning, are awaiting relatives to complete the necessary documentation. It is anticipated that all bodies will be returned by the end of today.
