British Woman, High on Cannabis, Arrested for Stabbing Husband to Death

Chonburi: A British woman, allegedly under the influence of cannabis, has been arrested for fatally stabbing her husband with a machete in their luxury home in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

According to Thai News Agency, police officers from Nong Prue Police Station, along with rescue workers and forensic investigators, discovered the body of Mr. Thomas, a 34-year-old British national and cannabis farm businessman, inside the bathroom of their home. The body was found lying face up with a stab wound below the left ribcage, placed on a pillow and partially covered with a gray towel. Dried bloodstains and signs of a struggle were evident throughout the residence.

A machete approximately 50 cm long, believed to be the murder weapon, was found cleaned in the kitchen sink. The deceased's wife, 21-year-old Isabelle, was found at the scene appearing intoxicated and with knife cuts on her fingertips. She claimed that she suffers from depression and severe anxiety and alleged that her husband had assaulted her first.

Friends of the deceased reported their inability to contact him, leading to the discovery of his body. Charlie, a 33-year-old British national and a friend of Mr. Thomas, was alerted by a business partner in the United States about the situation. Upon arriving at the house, he documented the scene and contacted the police after finding Isabelle incoherently sitting beside her husband's body.

Neighbors noted that the couple had only recently moved into the residence and frequently argued. Suspicion arose when a dog was heard barking inside the house, and food deliveries went uncollected. The couple had been renting the house for approximately two weeks.

Authorities have taken Isabelle into custody for further questioning, as inconsistencies were noted in her statement. Evidence such as bloodstains leading to the bathroom and her intoxicated state are under review. Police are also analyzing CCTV footage to ascertain the true events leading to Mr. Thomas's death.
