BTFP Showcase 2025 Highlights 8 Innovative Technology Projects, Inspires Thai Researchers

Bangkok: The annual BTFP Showcase 2025, organized by the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Research and Development Fund for the Public Interest (BTFP), is set to exhibit eight pioneering technology research projects. This year’s event aims to highlight the achievements and innovations of funded researchers, encouraging a new generation of researchers to contribute to the field. The showcase will take place at Samyan Mitrtown Shopping Center on November 14th, with the opening ceremony led by Clinical Professor Dr. Saran Boonbaichaipruk, Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and the BTFP Board of Directors.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Trirat Wiriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the NBTC, emphasized the organization’s role in promoting the efficient use of radio frequencies to improve quality of life and support national development. The NBTC allocates funds for research and development in broadcasting, television, and telecommunications, contributing to public and societal benefit.

Mr. Trirat outlined the various funding categories supported by the NBTC, which include open grants, grants announced by the Fund Management Committee, NBTC-announced grants, and the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund. The BTFP Showcase annually publicizes successful research projects, inspiring new researchers and demonstrating the practical benefits of NBTC-supported initiatives.

The event will not only display the work of the eight projects but also serve as a platform for exchanging knowledge on content production and personnel development to meet international standards. Attendees interested in fund support can consult with experts available at the event.

The eight projects featured at the BTFP Showcase 2025 include:

1. Sustainable artificial intelligence platform services project by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center.

2. Disease and Health Hazard Surveillance Information System Project by the Department of Disease Control Foundation.

3. Edge Computing Platform Development Project by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center.

4. Development of 5G standard channel decoding equipment and FEC accelerator cards by King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

5. Radar development project for drone detection by King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok.

6. Agricultural Management System Project for Community Enterprises, Phase 2, by Kasetsart University’s Faculty of Engineering.

7. KidBright Net Project: Educational Communication Network, Phase 2, by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center.

8. Development of audio-visual description services for people with disabilities by Thammasat University’s Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The seminar on “Human Resource Development and the Production of Quality International Program Content” featured speakers such as Dr. Chakrit Pichyangkun and Mr. Natthachat Puangsudrak. The Short Talk session included insights from Pramote Sangsorn, Siwaroj Kongsakul, and Awach Rattanapintha on the creative process in filmmaking. An interview session with artist Non-Chanon Santitharakul discussed trends in the film and entertainment industry. The event also included an interactive game with questions and souvenirs, attracting a significant number of students and adding a vibrant touch to the showcase.
