Building Collapse at State Audit Office: 11 People Still Missing

Bangkok: The number of people missing following the collapse of the Office of the Auditor General’s building has decreased to 11. The incident, which has shocked the nation, resulted in a total of 109 victims, with 89 confirmed fatalities, 9 injuries, and 11 individuals still unaccounted for.

According to Thai News Agency, the Institute of Forensic Medicine has confirmed the identities of 80 complete deceased individuals and identified 9 body parts that matched missing persons. Of these, 70 have been identified, and 60 bodies have been returned to their families for religious ceremonies.

Efforts to collect additional evidence are ongoing. In the evening, police officers from the Forensic Science Division, along with the Department of Special Investigation, entered the scene to gather more evidence, such as samples of iron pieces.

The incident command center at Chatuchak District Office has been actively working to manage the rescue mission for those impacted. The search and rescue operations continue as authorities work tirelessly to find the individuals still missing from the disaster.
