Bangkok: The Bus Terminal Company (BKS) has announced a significant change for passengers traveling to the North and Northeast regions who have booked tickets in advance for the New Year period. Passengers are advised to take note of the new boarding locations for a smoother travel experience.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthawit Rakchamroon, Managing Director of Transport Co., Ltd. (BKS), revealed that the company anticipates a large influx of people traveling back to their hometowns for the upcoming New Year’s holiday in 2026. To accommodate this, passengers with advance bookings for buses to the Northern and Northeastern (Isan) routes, departing from 6:00 PM onwards between December 26-30, 2025, are instructed to board at Bangkok Central Station, specifically at Gate 2.
For ease of access, travelers can reach Bangkok Central Station via the Blue Line MRT, Red Line MRT, as well as buses and taxis, which will help reduce congestion at the station. It is crucial for passengers to verify the “boarding point” on their ticket and allocate at least one hour for travel to the boarding area, ensuring a seamless journey.
Passengers without advance bookings have the option to purchase tickets on the day of travel and can board the bus at Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2.
